I knew I was really passionate about photography and I knew that's what I wanted to. So I left school happy and proud and knowing what I wanted to do. Oh, how naive being 17 was.

I had just left school, I was working casually in retail and really wanted to study. Little did I know how expensive studying is. And not only course fees, but I needed transportation and equipment, too. So I put myself out there and got myself a full time job. I saved and saved and saved. Before I knew it, I had myself my very own little car, a full frame camera body with two lenses and my first year of course fees. It was 1.5 years of hard work but I did it!

But then came the tricky part. I still had to work full time and study full time. I knew it would be difficult and stressful, but even I under estimated just how exhausting and stressful it was going to be. But I committed to it and I worked very hard to juggle both. I did this for two years!

But as of Thursday the 11th of December, 2014, I am officially a qualified professional photographer! I did it!! I graduated from my Diploma in Photoimaging!

I am so proud of myself for getting through this and for all my amazing family, friends and co workers for supporting me through it. I couldn't be happier with the way things have turned out and it makes me happier knowing I did it all by myself.

I've since got a bigger and newer car and an ever-growing kit of professional photography gear.

This just proves that if you work hard, you can make your dreams a reality. You can go beyond what you ever thought was possible.

So thank you to everyone who has ever modelled for me, assisted me or supported me. You've all been a great help in my journey to become who I am today.

I now have the time to dedicate all my energy to my photography business, so I am now taking bookings for 2015! :)

I hope to be seeing you.

Lots of love,

Kate x

First blog!

Hi everyone, I finally have a blog!
